
Better Heating for Your Sidel SBO and Matrix Lines
Getting PET preforms just right is a balancing act. You need the body hot enough to blow perfectly, but if you overheat the neck, you’re in trouble. That’s why we build our PETC heater modules—they’re designed to hit that sweet spot across the whole Sidel range, from the old-school SBOs to the newer Matrix series. No drilling. No headaches. Here’s the thing: nobody wants to spend their weekend modifying a machine chassis. We’ve made sure our modules are true “drop-ins.” We matched the mounting points and electrical spacing exactly to the original Sidel units. You just swap them out. It’s that simple. Plus, we use high-temp alloys for the housing, so you don’t have to worry about things warping after a few thousand heat cycles. More heat, where it actually belongs The Matrix series runs faster than the SBO, which means you need more heat, and you need it fast. We use high-wattage quartz elements to keep up with those quicker cycle times. But we didn’t just crank up the power. We tweaked the reflector geometry to push the IR energy straight into the preform instead of wasting it by heating up your machine frame. One quick heads-up, though. When you push more wattage through a small space, your cooling fans have to work harder. If you switch to our high-output modules, just double-check that your vents are clear. You don’t want a dusty fan tripping your thermal sensors in the middle of a run. Built for the factory floor Factories are loud, humid, and generally pretty rough on gear. We use standard connectors so you aren’t hunting for weird adapters, and we coat the electrical contacts to stop oxidation. Why? Because oxidation leads to voltage drops, and voltage drops lead to uneven heating. And uneven heating leads to scrap. When a module finally gives out, replacing it takes a few minutes. You’re back up and running before the coffee gets cold, and your line keeps moving.
